Olive Burl Veneer and Crushed Bamboo wall unit by Maitalnd-Smith.

My vote? I am leaning toward the last one- just above. I am a sucker for anything with the word "burl" in it...

I love visiting your blog! I live vicariously like a designer, through you...
I like the last one best, too and the first one second place. Both are heavy enough to not look like they would topple over if a cat jumped up on them (having cats does influence my design sense, MeowOutLoud)and both have enough of a custom look to add to the room and not just be shelving.

I really like the Cadence unit. I think the dark wood is really beautiful and it has really nice lines. Although, I think I would personally like some doors for the sides so that I could store more dvds, etc.
All area great finds though!
I like the dark wood of the Cadence unit - but it looks like more to dust.
Maybe I'm missing the point of the term "wall unit" here, but I don't like any of them. I guess I'm more of a cabinet person. I like my shelves to have backs, and those high side shelf units with nothing over the tv make me fidgety.
Okay, I guess I'll be the different one. I really like the Larkspur one. It is so simple, that it seems like it could be very versatile. That's my vote!
Gumps is good, interesting and not overwheling.
Glasgow is boring.
Cadence is nice but very dominating.
"I" like Restoration Hardware, but that's not for every one, every room.
The Burl/bamboo... Though large like cadence, isn't so dominating because it's... intriguing. ANd it's... intriguing! So go with that. IMO.
I'm not really crazy about any of them.
While on the topic, I'm just wondering how you feel about corner entertainment stands? Would I have any luck finding a nice one, or are they a decorating no-no?
Your thoughts would be appreciated.
Tina,
I haven't seen any corner units in quite a while, but that is probably just becasue I haven't looked for any.
Tamlynn,
Since everyone started getting a flat screen, I stay away from deep "closed in" units, as they might as well have a 24" in deep TV in them. Generally people don't want to spend the money on the nice TV, and then not show it off. It has totally changed what I look for in a "wall unit" to more of this open style. No top bridge bugs me as well :)
I love custom cabinets, but for a cabinet, the one by Restoration Hardware would be my pick. I like that it combines drawers and shelves and of course, has the bridge across the top. The wheels on the bottom give it a cool urban loft feel. I'm more of a farm house country chic kind of a girl, but my alter ego would live in a cool urban loft with tons of breakables.
