White wash is back! All of you who are just now purchasing everything in ebony are one step behind. Sure- ebony is still very much in style- but if you would rather be one step ahead- look for white wash. Not the white wash from the 80's- it is new- it is fresh- it comes glamorous (with mirrored surfaces) or cottage- formal or casual. It comes distressed or Contemporary and Clean. Don't use it everywhere. Carefully mix your white wash with darker woods. Make it timeless even though it is totally "in style!" What do you think? Do you love it? Are you ready to go back to the 80's with a new and very fabulous twist?

Whew! I am finally ahead of the game. My tv armior is white washed and just right.
I'm thinking my vintage 1989 whitewash birch cabinets in my kitchen just don't fit into this scheme. The only thing distressed about them is the abuse they have had for the past 20 years.
What makes this whitewash different from the 80s? I have several pieces of furniture that need to be painted or stained.
oooohhhhh I might just be in luck!
What do you think Christine... I have reddish wood armoire and entertainment center (needs to be changed out for a big flat screen and dresser.. but...) and beige walls and a chocolate couch.. would a white wash coffee table look strange? I have been thinking about it... but I am not sure.... I have white trim in the room and some white accents too..
I guess I should finally send you some picutres... ahhhh....
Love the mirror and the tables. I'm glad it's coming back.
what about those gorgeous floors you showed me? love a whitewashed floor.
