Vendala's Bathroom- Wallpaper Wednesday

Today I will interject in blue.

Dear Christine,

I am rethinking doing a large scale print. I want to do a small bathroom and some say it will shrink it and others say it will make it seem bigger. I like large prints in small rooms. Make sure the paper is centered on the wall- in a small room this is imperative. But- I also like medium prints and small prints. When it comes to pattern- use more than one in your room. There is an outside window in the room and I think it will help with some depth…? Help with depth??? yeahhhh--- I don't know.

I want to make it funky because the faucets and shower door trim is all gold/brass and I do not want to change that because the shower is hardly ever used. I love working with what I have and being creative without too much expense. I love taking everything out and putting in new at a any expense. Only then can I be truly creative :) However- I do believe in re-cycling. :) The fixtures are off-white. I thought a funky wallpaper would do the trick. The gold/brass is what is giving me a challenge. I am trying to use it to make it look really cool, when it really isn’t. Wallpapers with Gold in them are easy to find these days- gold is a hot color :)- In fact- Ronald Redding has a book that is full of gold- it is entitled 18 Karat the three pictures above are all from that book. They all would go great with gold- as would the paper at the very top of the page- from the book Aviva by Antonina Vella. I love that one. Also by Antonia Vella- but in the book Silvana are the two below. Another book with some very funky wallpapers- but is not online yet because it is so new- is the new Stacie Garcia book- Luxury Wallpapers II- it has a lot of gold.

Maybe I should stencil a really funky damask pattern on a roller blind, get some cool stylish towels, and just paint. No- no- your wallpaper idea was better :)

Any suggestions?

Interesting concept with the "large prints in small rooms"

Your post is very illustrative.

With regards to being creative without too much expense, do you recommend frosted window films for bathrooms? In terms of privacy. Would be interesting to see what kind of patterns you tend to go with for a small space.

Thanks.
