OK- SO- I have given this way too much thought- and so I am going to share it with you. I have come up with a health care plan. I am not happy with the Democratic one, and I honestly don't know what the Republican plan is. Yes, seriously, I have a plan of my own. It is simple- only four aspects- here goes:
- Tort Reform. Enough said- it needs to be done and will have a large (good) effect on the industry in general.
- Eliminate state lines for health insurance. With this, like car insurance- there will be more competition, and more "shopping around". This will give more options for people, and will naturally result in lower prices and better service.
- I got this third idea from a caller on a talk radio show. The caller was a doctor in Nebraska. He talked about that part of our society that was "in-between" qualifying for Medicare and actually being able to afford health insurance. It is a small percentage- but it does exist. And people can find themselves in this category for a number of reasons. The caller suggested that these people apply for a "charity card"- (that's what he called it)- they can then be seen by physicians for "free" and the physicians, in return can use their services as a write off. He said that it would help the doctors from a tax perspective, and the caller said that the doctors really did, for the most part- get into the profession because they wanted to help people. Those using the card would not be able to sue, of course.
- Then, point #4, what to do with illegals using the health care system. For this my solution is easy. Whatever benefits I would receive, as an illegal in their country- they would receive here. I know it would vary from country to country.
I don't think the plan needs to be more complicated than that. What do you think?

I'm with ya!! Number 4 would be tricky...
Let me know when you run for Congress!!
Totally on board. Clark Howard had a great plan on his radio show too. Any option is better right now than the one that we are currently seeing written up by the congress.
Some may feel squeamish about eating it, but rabbit has a fan base that grows as cooks discover how easy they are to raise — and how good the meat tastes.
